Obituary for John Joseph Dunkelberger Jr.

John Joseph Dunkelberger, Jr., 57, of Topton, died on Friday, February 2, 2018 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, after a sudden fall on January 29th. Born in Reading, John was a son of the late John J. Dunkelberger, Sr., and the late Nancy (Phillips) Bucks. He was a graduate of Brandywine Heights High School, Topton. He was employed as a Truck Driver by East Penn Manufacturing Co., Inc., Lyon Station, for over 10 years. He liked the outdoors, camping, hiking and auto racing. From a young age, John enjoyed fishing. He later was able to spend a lot of time with his son, Connor, teaching him his skill. He was a proud father, who was an avid supporter of his son's sporting events.

John is survived by his three children, Jason S., husband of Megan A. (Cole) Brendlinger, Quakertown, Jennifer L. Garber, Lenhartsville, and Connor J. Dunkelberger, Fleetwood; a brother, Randy, husband of Lori Dunkelberger, Hamburg; two aunts, Mary Reinert, Topton, and Brenda Matney, Texas; and many loving cousins. He is also survived by the mother of his two older children, Susan K. (Brendlinger) DiBuono, Lenhartsville, and Connor's mother, Buffy L. (Moser) Dunkelberger, Fleetwood.

A memorial service to celebrate John's life will be held on Friday, February 9, 2018 at 12:00 noon in Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc., 25 East Weis Street, Topton, with Reverend Dr. Coleen G. Kristula officiating. Burial will be private in Topton Union Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
