Obituary for Annetta (Virginia) DeWitt

Annetta "Virginia" Richter DeWitt, age 97, wife of the late Franklin DeWitt and longtime resident of Ansonia, entered into eternal rest Jan. 5, 2018. She was born Jan. 14, 1921 in Ansonia, daughter of the late Robert C. Richter & Josephine Doerr Richter Virginia was a longtime parishioner of The First United Methodist Church in Ansonia. She leaves her daughter Virginia “Ginny” Thomson & husband Jack of Shelton, sons Franklin DeWitt & wife Karen of Northport, Washington and Christopher DeWitt & wife Kristen of Fairfield, CT., seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by 4 brothers, Robert, Fred, Elmer & Albert Richter and sisters Blanche Newminster and Louise Drapeau. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday Jan. 10 at 11:00 a.m. at The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia, CT. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in Ansonia. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. before the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The First United Methodist Church, 47 Franklin St. Ansonia, CT or Bishop Wicke Health Center, 584 Long Hill Ave. Shelton, CT. The family would like to thank the staff at Bishop Wicke Health Center for the compassionate and professional care they gave to Annetta.
