Obituary for John Alexander Boyd

John Alexander Boyd, 89, of Newtown Square, PA, formerly of Lansdowne and Concordville, PA, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2017 after a brief illness.

He was born on June 27, 1928 in Philadelphia to Robert H. and Edna Ruth Bachman Boyd.

John graduated from Millersville State Teacher’s College in 1952. Most of his career was in the field of insurance consulting and real estate in Delaware County, PA.

He served in the U.S. Army at White Sands, NM during WWII, was a member of MENSA, and was a 33rd degree Mason.

John also enjoyed woodworking, photography, fishing, and gardening.

John is survived by three beloved children, Ruth Troxell and husband Dave, Virginia Lodge and husband Ken, and John A. Boyd, Jr. and wife Carrie, as well as four grandchildren and one special great-grandson. He will also be missed by his special friend and companion, Alma Keech of Newtown Square.

A service will be held on Saturday, December 2, at 9:00 at the Toppitzer Funeral Home at Arlington Cemetery in Drexel Hill.

Interment will be private.
