Obituary for Edward R Lunda
Edward R. Lunda age, 94, peacefully entered the Lords Kingdom on Friday, November 3, 2017.
During World War II, he was recruited and proudly served his country as a Tuskegee Airman in the United States Air Force where he attained the rank of Major. Edward Lunda and other Tuskegee Airmen endured segregation and extreme prejudice to prove to a doubtful world that black men were intelligent and were capable of becoming pilots and airmen.
Service will be held Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at 12 Noon at Prince of Peace Baptist Church, 844 Garth Ave., Akron, OH 44320, Reverend Timothy J. Wagner officiating. Interment Mt. Peace Cemetery. Friends may visit at the church from 11 a.m. until time of service. Procession will form at 2481 Thurmont Rd., Akron, OH 44313 and condolences may be sent to 1196 Belleflower Rd., Akron, OH 44307
