Obituary for Charles A. Vogel

Charles Amandus Vogel died at home with his devoted wife, Anna, of 41 years, by his side on November 20, 2017 in Pottstown, Pennsylvania at the age of 80.

Charles was born on July 15, 1937 in Philadelphia, PA. He was a United States Army Veteran, occupying Germany 1954-1957. He worked for more than 40 years as a maintenance mechanic for M.A. Bruder and Sons paint company in Philadelphia PA while making his home in Prospect Park, Pennsylvania for more than 30 years before settling in Pottstown.

Charles loved his family more than anything. His children and grandchildren were the light of his life, and his beloved wife, Anna was the song in his heart. His love for woodworking and fishing were passed on to his grandchildren.

Charles is survived by his wife Anna Esther Jacob Vogel, children Christopher Albert Vogel (wife Ashley Fisher Vogel) of West Chester, PA; Michael Reinhardt Vogel (wife Nicole Hoffman Vogel) of Pottstown, PA; Julie Ann Vogel Laum, of Pottstown PA; six grandchildren: Briana Hoffman, Evan Charles Vogel, Emilie Laum, Ashley Vogel, Piper Laum, and Michael Vogel, Jr. He is preceded in death by his daughter Jennifer Anna Vogel, his mother Adeline Anderson Vogel, father Max Vogel brother Max Vogel, and sisters Adeline Pergamenter, Mary Vogel and Bertha Vogel.

A funeral is scheduled for Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Cedarville United Methodist Church in Pottstown, PA at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be at 10 AM.

Interment will be at Arlington Cemetery in Drexel Hill. PA following the service at 1:00 PM. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Charles’ life.
