Obituary for Marian A. George

Marian A. (Keim) George, 86, of Mertztown, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 in her residence with her children by her side. Marian was the most loving mother, wife and friend who was loved by many, especially her children. She was the widow of Carl H. George, who died on November 15, 2010. Born in Mertztown, Marian was a daughter of the late George and Eva (Pilgert) Keim. She was a member of Saint Paul's Lutheran Church, Mertztown. Marian was employed by the former Daytimer, Lower Macungie Twp., for 10 years and prior to that was employed by Royal Mfg., Alburtis, for 30 years. She enjoyed volunteering her time at the Allentown Soup Kitchen and enjoyed doing puzzles, taking walks, cooking, baking and canning and was a very active person until the last couple months of her life. The family would like to extended a sincere "Thank You" to Berks VNA (Hospice), for their care and compassion they showed to Marian.

Marian is survived by her two children, Jeffrey A. George, companion of Elizabeth Glass, Mertztown, and Michele E. (George), wife of Dwayne D. DeLong, Hamburg. She was predeceased by her husband, parents, sisters, Geraldine, Shirley and Lillian; and brothers, Robert, Clifford and John.

A graveside service to celebrate Marian's life will be held on Friday, November 17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in Dunkel's Church Cemetery, 751 Dunkels Church Road, Kutztown, with her Pastor, Reverend Dr. Jeremiah A. Sassaman, officiating. The family will greet guests and continue the celebration following the service at Virginville Fire Company, 20 First Street, Virginville.
