Obituary for Virginia D. Boyd

 

Virginia D. (nee Dubson) Boyd passed away on October 30, 2017 at age 87 at Garden Spot Village, New Holland, PA. Formerly of Lansdowne, PA .

Ginny was the daughter of the late Neal O. and Mary Kolb Dubson. Beloved mother of Ruth Troxell and husband, Dave of Lebanon, Pa, Virginia Ann Lodge and husband Ken, of Pottstown, PA and John Boyd, Jr. and wife Carrie of Saratoga, NY. She is survived by her sisters, Mary Lou Hudson of New Holland, PA and Harriet Strong of Santa Fe, NM. Four grandchildren and one special great grandson will also miss her.

Ginny graduated from Millersville University and was an elementary librarian for many years. She was a Girl Scout leader in Lansdowne and was active in church activities. In addition she was very crafty and an outstanding candle and candy maker, and excelled in many different crafts, always willing to try something new. She loved to teach others how to make things as well. At the Graden Spot she was known and loved by many. She reached out to others, sharing her talents and her love for games and books. She will be dearly missed.

A memorial service will be held at Garden Spot Village on Saturday, November 11 at 1:00, where the family will greet following the service. The internment at Arlington Cemetery, Drexel Hill, PA. will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent in Ginny’s memory to the Lansdowne Public Library, 55 S. Lansdowne Ave., Lansdowne, PA 19050
