Obituary for Marma Jean Joseph

MARMA JEAN ''TONI'' JOSEPH MURPHY, TEXAS - There will be a funeral service held on Saturday, July 29, 2017, at 4 p.m. at the Disciples Christian Church, 565 Boardman-Canfield Road in Boardman for Marma Jean “Toni” Joseph, 84, formerly of Austintown, who peacefully passed away on Thursday afternoon, July 20, 2017, at Garnett Hill Rehab Facility in Wylie, Texas. Marma was born July 24, 1932, in Rimersberg, Pa., the daughter of Kenneth and Margaret (Stephens) Hosey, and moved to the Youngstown area in 1956, after she married her beloved husband, David. Toni lived in the Youngstown area until July of 2012, when she and her husband moved to Texas to be close to their daughter. Toni was employed by the Youngstown Board of Education for over 30 years in their Janitorial Department, working at Sheridan and Kirkmere Schools until her retirement in 1995. Toni was a member of the Disciples Christian Church, where she was a greeter and did volunteer work. She additionally belonged to the Austintown AARP No. 4339 and the Noteables Singing Group of AARP. Toni had many passions throughout her life. She enjoyed reading, playing Bingo and was an avid baseball fan. Her husband, David Joseph III, whom she married in May 12, 1956, passed away on Dec. 17, 2014. Marma leaves behind to cherish her memories, a daughter, Pamela Jean (Rick) Weaver, of Murphy; two granddaughters, Jessica Bohmer and Heather (Scott) Fetty; three great-grandchildren, Taylor “TJ” Bohmer, and Brock and Hazel Fetty; a sister, Ann Glenn; a sister-in-law, Dottie Johnson; a nephew, James Johnson; a niece, Shannon Walton; and six great-nieces and great-nephews. Besides her parents and her husband, David, Marma was preceded in death by twin daughters, Debra and Darlene; three brothers, Cecil, Jack and Bill Hosey; and five sisters, Betty Lerchen, Lois Crick, Peggy Lou Warner, Thelma Bray and Sue Myers. Family and friends may pay their respects on Saturday, July 29, 2017, from 3 until 3:50 p.m. at the Disciples Christian Church, 565 Boardman-Canfield Road, across from Giant Eagle. Burial will take place at Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Canfield. Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market St. in Boardman, the new location.
