Obituary for Marika Scott

Maria (Marika) Scott went to be with the Lord and her beloved husband and children on Friday July 21, 2017. Graveside service is at 4 p.m. Monday, July 24, at Olathe Memorial Cemetery, 738 N. Chesnut, Olathe, KS. No flowers. Arr.: Highland Park Funeral Home & Crematory, KCK, (913) 371-0699. 

Maria was born in Heraklion Crete, Greece on June 28, 1945, to Emanioul T. and Aurelia (Lydkai) Kaliakaki. Maria had a kind, loving and generous heart. She had a gift of remembering everyone''''s name she met and making them feel like they were her best friend. She was infectious. We all enjoyed her fun and humorous spirit. Maria will be greatly missed by everyone she touched throughout the years and we will continue to share our great memories of her.

Maria was preceded in death by her husband, James Scott; her children, Dimitri and Danise Hisle; her father, Emanioul Kaliakaki; and her brother-in-law, Floyd Scott Jr. She is survived from overseas by her mother, Aurelia Kaliakaki; sisters, Eva Vouvaki and Loula Makraki; nieces and nephews,Ckristo Vouvaki, Amilia Loukaki, Avrilia Loukaki, and Argiry Tsibibaki. From Kansas/Missouri, Maria is survived by brother and sister in-laws, Ronnie and Wanda Scott, Bill and Carolyn Hofer, Bob and Linda Scott, Joe Scott, Donald Scott, and Cheryl Brown; several nieces and nephews; and God daughter, Anna Samuels and her sister Elena Frangioudakis of Ohio. Maria is survived by many close friends including Ricardo and America Lopez of Texas, Kevin and Barbara O''''Brien of Kansas, Julia and Michael Richards of Kansas.
