Obituary for Ingeborg Szokol

Ingeborg Ruth Szokol, age 87 of Ansonia, beloved wife of the late Albert Bela Szokol, died on June 4, 2017 at Griffin Hospital, surrounded by her family. Born on November 24, 1929 in Albstadt, Ebingen, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Karl and Frederica Lorenz Haasis. Mrs. Szokol was employed at the former B.F. Goodrich Co. and retired after 26 years as a machine operator at Schick Safety Razor. She was a dog lover especially for “BoBo” and her “granddogs” Callie and Kodi. An avid sports fan, she rooted for the NY Yankees, Georgetown Hoya, Ansonia Chargers and Holy Cross Crusaders. She is survived by her devoted daughters, Ingrid (David) Lungarini of Ansonia, Kristina (Robert) Bradley of Seymour, and Hildegard Szokol of Shelton; son, Albert Bela (Cheryl) Szokol of Seymour; grandchildren, Christopher R. Bradley of NJ, Andrew S. Bradley of VA, Hillary K. Bradley of Seymour; step-grandson, David (Shari) Lungarini of Ansonia; step-great-grandson, Wyatt Lungarini; nieces, Lisalottie Haasis of Beacon Falls, Heidi (Steve) Skiptunes of Oxford and Michaela (Manfred) Schonenberger of Germany; very dear friends, Barbara Ashelmann of Ansonia, and Lauretta Herthum of Milford. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by sisters, Lottie Haasis Jonas and Annaliese Haasis Finke; and brother, Kurt Haasis. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia, CT 06401. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, prior to the service.
