Obituary for Ronald C Mang

RONALD C. MANG BOARDMAN – Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Martin Luther Lutheran Church for Ronald C. Mang, 80. He passed away on Friday, July 7, at Briarfield Manor in Austintown, after a courageous five-and-a-half-year battle with metastatic lung cancer. Ronald was born May 22, 1937, in Youngstown, the son of Christian and Katherine (Catanzaro) Mang. He lived on the east side of Youngstown, attended North High School, and was a lifelong member of the Martin Luther Lutheran Church. Ronald was employed at Republic Steel for 31 years. He then worked at the Martin Luther Lutheran Church as a custodian for 18 years, retiring in 2007.
Ronald will be sadly missed and remembered by many, including his son, Ronald J. Mang of Boardman; daughter Valerie (Kenneth) Patterson of Austintown; granddaughter Victoria Ann Patterson, whom was his pride and joy; and his faithful dog, Bella. He also leaves one brother, Christian (Andrea) Mang of Painesville, and two sisters, Roselyn Hamilton of Struthers and Dolores (Don) Barnhart of New Waterford. Along with his siblings, he will be missed by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Barbara Ann (Yuhas) Mang, whom he married May 21, 1966. Barbara passed away March 27, 2011. His brother-in-law, Ronald Hamilton, also preceded him in death. Friends and family may call on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Vaschak-Kirila Funeral Home, 3100 Canfield Road in Youngstown, and on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Martin Luther Lutheran Church, 420 Clearmount Drive in Youngstown. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Briarfield Manor and MVI Hospice for their excellent care and compassion.
