Obituary for Richard A Macey

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           Services for Richard A. Macey, 92, formerly of Mentor, will be at 11 a.m. on Fri, June 30, 2017 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby. The Rev. Maria Bernardo, Chaplain of Heartland Hospice will officiate at the service. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thurs, June 29, 2017 at the funeral home. Mr. Macey passed away Monday, June 26, 2017 at Heartland of Willoughby. Born Aug. 7, 1924 in Cleveland, he has lived in Mentor for more than 50 years. He was a World War II United States Navy veteran, a member of Saint Andrew Episcopal Church and the Geauga Bowman''s Club, where he was a state champion in archery. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed archery, deer hunting with bow and arrow and fishing. He also enjoyed woodworking and bowling and was a longtime volunteer at the soup kitchen at Saint Mary Catholic Church in Painesville. Mr. Macey was employed as a tool and die maker, most recently for RT&T Machining in Mentor. Survivors are his daughters, Janet (Art) Ruffner and Karen Macey; grandchildren, Jennifer (Michael) Rohaley, Brian Algeo and Amy (William) St. Germaine and great-grandsons, Mason and Carson St. Germaine. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 yrs, Caroline E. Macey, on September 23, 2002. His parents, Anthony & Florence (Sobocinski) Mieszczymski, sister, Alice Macey & brother, Ralph Macey are also deceased Final resting place will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens, Chester Township, following the service on Fri.
