Obituary for Bonnie L Hess

BONNIE L. HESS MINERAL RIDGE – There will be services at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at the Disciples Christian Church in Boardman for Bonnie L. Hess, 66, who passed away Friday afternoon at home, after a long courageous battle with cancer. Bonnie was born Nov. 27, 1950, in Niles, a daughter of Robert C. and Lois J. Evans Getic. She was a 1968 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School. She was a lifelong member of the Disciples Christian Church, where she was a deacon, a greeter, Sunday school and Bible school teacher.
She served on the bereavement and membership committees, and was always at church helping out as needed. Bonnie volunteered for many years at St. Elizabeth Hospital as a patient advocate as well as volunteering for other church and community organizations and events.

Bonnie is survived by her father, Robert C. Getic; her husband, David F. Hess, whom she married Nov. 15, 1969; her son, Curt D. Hess of Sheffield Village; her brother, R. Thomas Getic of Hubbard; her sister, Debra J. (James) Hardwick of Poland; her beloved grandchildren, Madelyn, Gracie and Molly Hess; as well as several nieces and nephews that adored their Aunt Bonnie “Bon Bon;” as well as a large, loving family and circle of friends. Bonnie was preceded in death by her mother, Lois J. Getic; and her son, Eric Alan Hess. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Mineral Ridge Chapel, and from 10 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, prior to the service at the church.
