Obituary for Margaret Soldra

Margaret Soldra, Age 74, wife of the late  Walllter Soldra and resident of Ansonia, entered into eternal rest with her loving family by her side May 26 at CT Hospice in Branford. She was born July 14, 1942 in Derby, daughter of the late John & Jessie McQueen Mitchell and worked for BIC Pen Co. for over 30 years. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Cheryl Szokol (Albert) of Seymour, son Michael Dupre (Melissa) of Ansonia, 2 brothers George Mitchell (Ray) of Ansonia & James Mitchell (Jeanette) of Monroe, brother-­in-­law John Soldra, sister­-in­-law Marie Batza (Rich), as well as several nieces & nephews and her “Grand dogs” ‘Lexi’ & ‘Girl’. Margaret was a member of the Subalpi Club, the Ansonia and Derby Senior Centers as well as the Derby Lodge of Elks. She was also a member for many years with The BIC Retirees. She was an avid UCONN girls basketball and Yankees fan and enjoyed bingo and casino trips with The Senior Center. Margaret was predeceased by 2 brothers, John & William Mitchell, sisters Jessie Martonak, Anne Snodgrass & Mary Mitchell and sister-­in-­law Luba Soldra. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 3 at 10:30 a.m. at The First United Methodist Church, 47 Franklin St. Ansonia. Friends may call on Saturday, at church from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. before the service. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery. The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia, is entrusted with arrangements.
