Obituary for Fiora Lynn Megenhardt

Fiora (Sis) Lynn Megenhardt Fiora (Sis) Lynn Megenhardt born January 21, 1956 to Frank S. and Madaline DeSimone, went home to be with the Lord on May 28, 2017. She was surrounded by family as her courageous 23-year battle with breast cancer came to an end. Sis was born and raised in North Hill Akron and went on to make her home in Cuyahoga Falls with her adoring husband of 23 years, Douglas Megenhardt. She worked at Ace Mitchell Bowlers Mart in Cuyahoga Falls for 40 years, alongside her best friend, Teresa Gallina and cousin, Tony Pascucci. Sis was happiest spending time with family, she always had perfectly done hair, and she never missed a Cavs game. Her heart was made of solid gold and she was always there for those that needed her. One could always count on Sis, whether it be a shoulder to lean on, a listening ear, or just a shopping buddy. She was a true angel amongst all. She will be treasured forever and immensely missed. She was greeted at the gates of Heaven by those who have preceded her in death, including her father, Frank S. DeSimone; Grandmother, Mary Panaia Ulrich; Uncle, Nick DeSimone; Uncle, Philip Panaia; and other loved family members. She is survived by mother, Madaline DeSimone and aunt Violanda DeSimone. Sisters, Mary Lou (Patrick) Daugherty, Anna Marie (Jim) Janish, Sandra (Keith) Hengeli, Patricia DeSimone; brothers, Angelo DeSimone, Anthony (Lisa) DeSimone, Nick DeSimone and her beloved baby brother, Frank D. (Julia) DeSimone. nieces, Angela (Sean) Shiplett and son Donovan, Kathryn Daugherty and daughter Mackenzie Bell, Janine Aguilar and daughter Sophia, Jessica Hengeli; Kristina Clark and children Ashley, Tyrese, and Joe, Alicia Blocker and son Josiah; nephews, Patrick (Latassha) Daugherty and son Dominic, Michael DeSimone, Frankie DeSimone and Joey DeSimone; as well as many more loved nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family would like to thank Ace Mitchell Bowlers Mart and the Summa Hospice nurses for their special care towards Sis. The family will receive friends Thursday, June 1 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Hennessy Funeral Home (corner of York and Main), 552 North Main Street, Akron. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, June 2 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 83 Mosser Pl., Akron. Burial will follow at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park.
