Maggie Lena JonesMaggie Lena Jones departed this world suddenly on May 6, 2017 at Akron General Medical Center surrounded by her family. Maggie was born December 13, 1938 in Akron, Ohio to the late John (Daddy Jack) and (Mom) Ruth Daniel. Maggie attended Akron Public Schools, and was a lifetime resident of Akron. Maggie made friends wherever she went with her giving spirit and love of grandchildren, and family. She loved to entertain and cook for both family and friends, reading books, and watching First 48. Maggie was preceded in death by her parents; son, Robert Jones; grandson, Kem Delaney; longtime love, Curtis Williams, and sisters, Gloria Daniel, Irma Bland, Suzanne "Suzie" Daniel-Alexander and Marjorie Powers. Maggie leaves to mourn her passing, her children that she dearly loved, Yvette Jones, Hazel "Nadine" Jones, and Damion (Shawntaye) Jones; along with 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; sister, Jacqueline (Wilbur) Long all of Akron, Ohio. Special aunt, Suzanne McKnight of Shaker Heights; special niece, Ruby Bland; and special friend, Ruth Tate from Cincinnati, Ohio; brother-in-law, Artis Williams; and a host of special nieces, nephews, and cousins'' that she loved.Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at Rhoden Memorial Home, 1101 Palmetto Ave., Akron, Ohio 44306 at 12 p.m. with Brother Stephen Muhammod officiating. Calling hours will begin at 10 a.m. until time of service. Interment is at Mount Peace Cemetery. Procession will form and condolences may be sent to 516 Euclid Ave., 44307.
