Obituary for Amani Rene Ndombe Lafortune

 Amani Rene’ Ndombe Lafortune, age 7, peacefully entered into God’s loving arms on Wednesday afternoon, February 5, 2020, at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford following a courageous battle with osteosarcoma.

     Amani was born in Waterbury, CT on February 11, 2012, beloved son of Gurtis Odile Labbe of Naugatuck and Jean Rene Lafortune of Haiti. Amani was a smart, out-going boy that enjoyed playing and building with Legos. Being raised in a religious home, he liked the Australian pop duo of King & Country and one of his favorite songs was Shoulders. He also enjoyed watching the YouTube channel of DanTDM.

     In addition to his mother Gurtis and father Jean Rene, he leaves to cherish his memory, sisters, Elodie Lafortune and Emy Lafortune of Naugatuck, loving maternal grandparents, Francoise and Guivard Labbe of Naugatuck, loving paternal grandmother, Charlotte Lafortune of FL, proud and caring aunts and uncles, Carline Labbe of MA, Danielle Jeudy, Florence Beaufort and Frantz Labbe of Naugatuck, Eva Dominique of Shelton, Dorothy Benoit of Ansonia, Myriam Labbe of FL, Dieudonne Labbe and Guy Labbe of Waterbury, Carmel Labbe of Bridgeport, Dominique Lafortune and Pierre-Yves Lafortune of FL and Clovis-Tela Lafortune of the Congo as well as numerous cousins, especially John Sanon of Naugatuck.

     Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Thursday February 13, 2020, from 10:00 to 11:00 am in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. At 11:00 am, a funeral service will be held with Pastor Enock Faustin officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in Ansonia.
