Obituary for Gertrude M. Ward

Gertrude Ward age 94, wife of 55 years to the late Howard Ward and resident of Shelton, previously of Derby,  passed away Jan. 15. She was born Oct. 30, 1922 in Ansonia, daughter of the late Elmer & Robertine Fryer. She worked as an Avon sales lady for 53 years and was a member of The First United Methodist Church in Ansonia. She leaves three daughters Joan DeTullio of Ansonia, Linda Anderson & husband Kenneth of Boothbay Harbor, Maine & Wendy Ward & partner Ronald Callanan of Seymour, 4 grandchildren Brian Anderson of Maine, Eric Anderson of Prospect, Jason DeTullio of Missouri, Monica DeTullio of Ansonia, & three great grandchildren Cody, Wyatt & Garrett DeTullio. She was predeceased by her brothers Elmer Fryer Jr. & George Fryer Sr. and her sisters Robertine McEwen & Grace Forbes. She will be buried privately in the family plot in Pine Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wesley Heights Assisted Living of Shelton or to The American Cancer Society. The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia, is entrusted with arrangements.
