Obituary for James Bronner

 James W. Bronner earned his wings on April 25, 2017.James was born August 17, 1934 in Akron, Ohio, to Ezra and Eva Bronner, Sr. He attended Akron Public Schools, followed by Kent State University. James served two terms in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1959 and 1962. He was a supervisor at the Firestone Tire & Rubber Co., retiring after 32 years of service. In the next phase of life, James worked as a driver for the Akron Beacon Journal, where he retired after 20 years of service.James was raised in Phillips Chapel CME Church and until his health began to decline, he was an active member of Wesley Temple AME Zion Church for over 50 years.James was pre-deceased by his parents and 10 siblings. He leaves to mourn, his devoted wife of 55 years, Mary Bronner; children, Michelle Bronner of Columbus, Alicia Bronner Townes of Akron; and he raised Derek S. Williams, Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren, Atty. Natasha Townes (Ricardo) Robinson of Oak Forest, Ill., Nicholas Townes of Akron and Zion Williams of Cuyahoga Falls; brother, Drs. Leeroy (Yvonne) Bronner of Ellicott City, Md.; and sister, Betty Bridges of Akron. He also leaves to cherish his memory several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.Service will be held Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Wesley Temple AME Zion Church, 104 N. Prospect St., Akron, OH 44304. Calling hours are 11 a.m., immediately followed by the Service at 12 Noon. Interment at Mount Peace Cemetery. Procession will form and condolences may be sent to 714 Inverness Rd., Akron, OH 44313.
