Obituary for Joseph D. Nessar

Funeral Services for Joseph D. Nessar, age 80, will be 12:00 PM, Monday, April 24th at Painesville Assembly of God Church, 10949 Johnnycake Ridge Road in Painesville.  Pastor Aaron Taylor will officiate.  Family and friends may call 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Nessar was born January 17, 1937 in Wendel, WV and passed away April 19, 2017 at Lake West Medical Center. 

He was a resident of Lake County for over 61 years and was a member of Painesville Assembly of God.  He served in the U. S. Army in Korea.  He was employed by Metal Coatings International as a technical service engineer and was also a master woodworker.  Joseph was founder of the Royal Ranger’s boys group and was a member of the Diamond Shamrock Rifle Club.  He loved to go camping and fishing out west in Colorado.

Joseph is survived by his wife, Lula “Bell” (Hauser) Nessar; daughters, Lynette (David) Tuikka of Painesville, Cathy (Jeff) Hartman of Columbia, SC, and Lori (Dan) Ivanovic of Concord Township; grandchildren, Tanya Kruty, Joseph and Rachel Hartman, Wesley and Juliette Ivanovic; great grandchild, Gracelyn Kruty; sister, Dolly Dragovich of Lorain; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hassan and Lila (Jacobs) Nessar; brothers, Earl and Fred Nessar; and sister, Mary Alice McDonaldson.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Joseph’s memory to the Royal Rangers, C/O Painesville Assembly of God Church.
