Obituary for Sophie Pelesh
Sophie (Piurek) Pelish, age 104 of Ansonia, passed away on April 14, 2017 at Gardner Heights.
Sophie was born in Derby, CT to the late Andrew and Barbara (Strzelec) Piurek, on January 20, 1913. She
became a widow in 1981 when her husband Louis passed. Mrs. Pelesh was a member at Three Saints Orthodox
Church and a lifelong member to the Ladies Aide. Sophie enjoyed gardening, baking and making her house a
home. She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Raymond Pelesh and his wife Joan of Stratford, many nieces
and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was also cared for with compassion by Dorothy, Linda and
Alice. Besides her husband, she was also predeceased by three brothers, two sisters, and a nephew. A Funeral
Service will take place on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at 10:00am at Three Saints Orthodox Church in Ansonia.
Family and friends may gather directly at the church for a calling hour at 9:00am till the time of service. Burial
will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Church Street, Ansonia. Memorial contributions may be made to: Three
