Obituary for Barbara Jean Rumel

Barbara Jean Rumel Barbara Jean Rumel, 73, passed away on March 26, 2017. Barbara was born November 18, 1943 in Akron, Ohio to Ray M. Puckett and Imogene I. (Johnson) Puckett, and she was a lifelong resident of Akron. Barbara was a singer from an early age, mainly because of her twin sister, Carol. Over the years, Barbara sang in many small and large groups, in school, in the community, at weddings, in family gatherings, and at church, all of which usually included her sister Carol. Barbara was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in various teaching, musical, and leadership positions over the last 50 years. Barbara was a former receptionist and office assistant for cardiologist Dr H. Karimian for 20 years. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, older brother, Ray M. Puckett Jr, and twin-sister, Carol. She is survived by her husband, John E Rumel; son, Jeffrey (Ana) Rumel; daughters, Tracy (Sean) Hanna and Valerie (Kent) Blankenship; sisters, Joyce Stadler and Joan Lee; brother, James (Marie) Puckett; 15 grandchildren and 42 nieces and nephews. Barbara always tried to be helpful to others. She was loved and will be remembered by many. A viewing will take place on Thursday, April 13, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at the Billow FAIRLAWN Chapel, 85 N. Miller Rd. Akron, OH. The funeral service for Barbara will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 735 N. Revere Road, Akron, OH, at 11:00 am on Friday, April 14. The family will receive friends there at 10:00 am, prior to the service, to reminisce. Interment will follow at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park, 2613 Sackett Ave, Cuyahoga Falls, OH.
