Evelyn L. Vaji (nee Harvey), age 71, beloved wife of the late Walter; loving mother of Jeffrey (wife Kristina), Tina Savage (husband Randy) and Tracy Scheid (husband Dennis); devoted grandmother of Jake, Madeline, Savannah, Jack, Ryan, Ben, Nick and Sydney; cherished daughter of the late James and Sara (nee Hugland) Harvey; dearest sister of James Harvey (wife June, deceased), Samuel Harvey (wife Molly, deceased), Betty Jane Aldridge (husband Robert, deceased), Sara Matty (husband Ronald, deceased), Alva Harvey (wife Mildred) and the late Mary Lou Webster (husband Herbert, deceased), Kenneth Harvey (wife Nancy) and William Harvey (wife Rose); dear aunt and great-aunt of many.
Evelyn was born on May 29, 1945 in Brownsville, PA and passed away January 28, 2017 in Chardon, where she had been a resident for the past 25 years.
Evelyn graduated from high school in 1963 in Pennsylvania and was an assembler at Swagelock. She retired from there after more than 19 years. Evelyn enjoyed shopping, baking and spending time with her grandkids. She was a hard worker, reserved, strong-willed and determined. Evelyn loved her family greatly and will be dearly missed.

Celebration of Life Service Thursday February 2, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial following at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Family will receive friends to pay tribute to and celebrate the life of Evelyn at The DeJohn Funeral Home & Celebrations Center of Chesterland, 12811 Chillicothe Road, (Rt. 306, just south of Mayfield Rd.) Wednesday 2 to 4 & 5 to 8 p.m.
