Margaret "Peg" Barth Long

CUYAHOGA FALLS -- Margaret "Peg" Barth Long, 89, passed away January 30, 2017.

She was a life-long area resident. Peg graduated from Uniontown High School going on to earn a B.S. and B.A. from Kent State University. She retired as a beloved Elementary Teacher from the Cuyahoga Falls School District. Peg was a member of Chapter B.K. of P.E.O., Akron Women''s City Club and was a long-time member of the First United Methodist Church. She had a huge heart and was known for her love of animals.

Preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Eunice Boone; brother, Edwin (Martha) Boone; husbands, William H. Barth and Paul G. Long; she is survived by her children, Lynda Barth of Akron, Kenneth P. Barth of Arizona, Brad (Linda) Long of Columbus, Robert (Debbie) Long of Youngstown, Betsy (James) Snyder of Cuyahoga Falls; five grandchildren;, sister, Annette (Tom) Cadwell of Scottsdale, Arizona; sister-in-law, Anne (Perry) Ballinger of Massillon; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staffs of Crossroads Hospice and Laurel Lake Retirement Community.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, February 3rd, 2017 in the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 4th at the First United Methodist Church, 245 Portage Tr., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221, Dr. David Baker will be officiating. A private burial will be at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of other memorials, remembrances may be made to One of a Kind Pet Rescue, 1929 W.
