Joyce DeJournettOn January 27, 2017 Joyce DeJournett passed on to glory after battling with Lupus.Joyce was born on May 20, 1965 to the late Julie and John Stembridge. Joyce was born to help and mentor everyone she came in contact with, and she did that her entire life. She was one of the most caring, loving and generous people you could have ever met. Joyce was first and foremost a mother among other things to everyone. God called her to care for many children as she worked for Akron Public Schools for over ten years. Her family and friends meant the world to her. Joyce is survived by her husband, Earl DeJournett III; daughters, Amore'' DeJournett and Natasha Hatten; son, Earl DeJournett IV; in-laws, Earl DeJournett Jr., Odessa DeJournett, Barbara DeJournett; sisters, Charlene Bonner, Carla Stembridge, Melvena Perkins, Jeanetta (Perry) McCormick; nieces and nephews, Byron (Jennie) Beverly, Charles (Britnee) Blackwell, Keyshia (Jason) White, Andre, Summer, Wesley, Asyah, Laticia, Frankie, Princess, Casey, Milana; grandchildren, Sinceer, Elijah, Kyjuan, Ky''marion, Kayvion; as well as a host of great nieces, nephews and cousins and her close friends, Linda Price and Lenese Prince. Friends may call on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. at New Life Missionary Baptist Church, 2321 17th St. SW, Akron, OH 44314. Service will immediately follow.
