Obituary for Mary R. Doerge

Mary Regina Doerge, 85, of Lake Worth, FL (formerly, Painesville, Ohio) peacefully passed away after a short illness, on January 27, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.
Mary was born March 24, 1930 to parents, Anna and Andrew Buzminsky, of Colver, PA . She attended St. Basil''s Academy in Philadelphia PA although, following her mother''s death, returned home to assist her younger siblings. After her marriage to Andrew Paullisky (Deceased 1956) she moved to Cleveland and worked at Stouffer''s in Downtown Cleveland and later at The Higbee Company.
Throughout her life, Mary was known as a kind, sweet, thoughtful soul who loved helping others. She and Ed, her devoted husband of 55 years, enjoyed gardening, canning, baking, crossword puzzles, scrabble, and shared their love of animals by feeding birds, squirrels, and adopting and caring for rescue kitties.
Mary was an accomplished classical pianist who pursued her enjoyment for music through the continued piano study over 40 years. She was an ardent reader of biographies and classic literature. While at St. Basil''s Academy, Mary assisted the nuns making Ukrainian costumes for Holiday festivals, which was her introduction to embroidery and the beginning her lifelong joy in the fine art of needlework. Over the next 60 years, she expanded her needlework achievements including the completion of many lovely afghans, beautiful embroidered and hand-appliqued quilts, and fine rug hooking wall hangings. Mary continued crocheting until the last week of her life.
Mary is preceded in death by her first husband, Andrew (1956), and husband, Edward (2015).
Mary is survived by her loving daughter and son-in law, Andrea and Joseph Goldberg of Lake Worth, FL; granddaughters Midge, Lisa, and Jodi; great grandchildren Lynne, Jimmy, Matthew, and Adam; siblings Catherine, Mike, Ladga, Steve (deceased),and John (deceased). She leaves behind many adoring nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and lifelong friends.
Mary is an inspiration, full of strength and goodness, to those who shared her life. We will miss you.
A Memorial Service will take place at St. Paul''s Episcopal Church in Delray, FL and Inurnment at South Florida National Cemetery on February 19, 2016. A Memorial Service in Painesville is planned.
