Obituary for Helen Nezbola

HELEN NEZBOLA DIAMOND - There will be services held at 11 a.m. on Friday at the Redeemer Lutheran Church for Helen Nezbola, 97, who died Sunday afternoon at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center. Helen was born Dec. 28, 1919, in Youngstown, a daughter of Daniel and Mary. She was a graduate of Chaney High School and a devoted mother and homemaker. Helen was a longtime and very active member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church.

She was a volunteer at St. Elizabeth Hospital, giving 5,946 hours of service, since 1974. She also enjoyed gardening. Her husband, Peter J. Nezbola, whom she married April 12, 1944, died Jan. 25, 1981. Helen is survived by her son, David P. Nezbola of Lake Milton; her daughters, Mary Ann (Ronald) Lovas of Indiana and Judy (Ken) Borkes of Texas; her grandsons, Matthew and Nathan Lovas; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Helen was preceded in death by her sister, Julia; and her brothers, William, infant John, Michael, Steve, Daniel and John.
