Obituary for Charles W. Fetheroff

Services for Charles W. Fetheroff, 86, of Willowick, will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Shoregate United Methodist Church, 30500 Bayridge Boulevard, Willowick. The Rev. Jill Lea Scott will officiate at the service. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, January 27, 2017 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby. Mr. Fetheroff passed away Saturday, January 21, 2017 at Hospice House in Cleveland. Born April 9, 1930 in East Cleveland, he has lived in Willowick for the past 60 years. He was a Sergeant in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Charles was an active member of Shoregate United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Shaw High School, where he was class valedictorian. He graduated with honors from the former Case Institute of Technology in Cleveland. Charles was a member of the Willowick Jaycees and was awarded a Jaycees International Senatorship. He served as president of the Willoughby-Eastlake Board of Education in 1975. He was an avid genealogist. Mr. Fetheroff was an electrical engineer at the former TRW Corporation. After he retired in 1991, he enjoyed participating in the adventures of his grandchildren. Survivors are his wife of 61 years, Sophie Christine (nee: George) Fetheroff; children, Chuck (Colleen) Fetheroff, Jim (Sarah) Fetheroff, Robin Karlozi and Ellen (Jim) Ruff; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Emerson and Wahneta (Grisso) Fetheroff and his brother, Kenneth Fetheroff and his granddaughter, Bridget Cavanaugh. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions to Hospice of the Western Reserve, Inc., 17876 Saint Clair Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44110-2602.
