Obituary for Evelyn V Miller

EVELYN VIRGINIA MILLER RAVENNA – Evelyn Virginia Miller, 97, formerly of Deerfield, died on Jan. 15, 2017, at 10 a.m. at Long Meadow Care Center in Ravenna. Evelyn was born on Sept. 4, 1919, in Kane, Pa., a daughter of the late Frederick and Ruth Anderson. She graduated from Kane High School in 1937. She was a proud Christian and a former member of the Four Mile Run and the Randolph Christian Church. Evelyn was a homemaker, dedicating her life to her beloved husband and children. She was a former treasurer of Leisure Lake and would spend her summers at various camp sites. In her free time, she enjoyed spending countless hours watching birds and tending to her flower garden.

She leaves behind three sons, James (Susan) Miller of Scottsboro, Ala., Ronald (Diane) Miller of Deerfield, and Robert (Candace) Miller of Akron; seven grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; two brothers, Fred (Connie) Anderson and Carl Anderson; and one sister, Liz Savoia. Besides her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, the love of her life and best friend, the late Robert W. Miller. They were married on June 19, 1943, and Robert died on Dec. 6, 2007, after 64 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Genevieve, Mildred, Marie, Harry and Paul. Family and friends may call Friday, Jan. 20, 2017, from noon to 2 p.m., with services starting at 2 p.m. at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel. Interment will take place at Green Haven Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations can be made in Evelyn’s name to Crossroad Hospice, 3743 Boettler Oaks Drive, Uniontown, OH 44689
