Obituary for Kay A. Archer

Kay Arlene Archer Kay Arlene Archer passed away on January 4, 2017. Kay was born June 8, 1940 in Akron, Ohio to parents Glen V. and Daisy E. Morgan. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bryce. Kay is survived by her husband of fifty-two years, Jack Archer of Cuyahoga Falls; daughter, Amy Archer and fiance Tony Paglia of Cuyahoga Falls; son and daughter-in-law, Bryce and Leean Archer of Hudson; three granddaughters, Ella, Mya and Elena Lathem of Cuyahoga Falls; brother-in-law, Bob Archer of Ross, California; and niece and nephews, Lauren Archer of District of Columbia, Graham Archer of Oakland, California, and Steve and Stephanie Morgan of Cuyahoga Falls. Kay graduated from Akron Garfield High School in 1958. She earned a bachelor''s and a master''s degree through the University of Akron. She taught English and speech at Norton and Woodridge High Schools and evening classes at the University of Akron. After teaching and raising her son and daughter, Kay became a realtor, working with Howard Hannah for more than 20 years. Kay was a Martha Holden Jennings Scholar, a sustaining member of the Junior League of Akron, and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Cuyahoga Falls for more than 50 years. The family would like to express our thanks to the wonderful help of the Summa at Home Hospice program for their thoughtful care and consideration. Calling hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, January 9, 2017 at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls, OH, 44221, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 10.
