Obituary for Dorothy Lou Durig

DOROTHY LOU DURIG LAKE MILTON – Dorothy Lou Durig, 81, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016, at St. Joseph Health Center in Warren. She was born on May 21, 1935, in Lake Milton, the daughter of the late Norman E. Mick and Marie Anna (Harrison) Mick. Dorothy married Charles M. Durig on May 21, 1955, and they enjoyed 41 years of marriage together until he passed away on Nov. 7, 1996. She lived her entire life in Lake Milton as a housewife and raised four wonderful children. Dorothy loved all animals, especially walking the dogs for exercise, feeding the cats, reading the newspaper, and loved going to her granddaughter, Shauna’s volleyball games.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles “Max” Durig; and one brother, Dean Mick. She is survived by four sons, Douglas Durig of Lake Milton, Charles and Karen Durig of Streetsboro, Scott and Sharon Durig of Berlin Center, and Mark and Katie Durig of Fincastle, Va.; eight grandchildren, Seth, Claire, Tyler, Nikki, Cameron, Caleb, Shauna and Brandon; three great-grandchildren, Kaydence, Cody, and Nevaeh; and two nephews, Larry and Leon Mick. Per Dorothy’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at the James Funeral Home in Newton Falls on Friday, Jan 6, 2017, at 6 p.m. The family will receive friends for calling hours from 4 to 6 p.m. Dorothy will be laid to rest beside her husband, Max at Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Canfield.
