Obituary for William G Riley

WILLIAM G. RILEY AUSTINTOWN – Funeral services will be held Monday, Dec. 5, at 11 a.m. at St. Michaels Church in Canfield, for William G. Riley, 73, who passed away on Friday, Dec. 2. He was born Sept. 3, 1943, in Youngstown, son of Francis and Dorothy McMahon Riley. He was a graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School and Youngstown State University. He went on to work in the office of Youngstown Cartage and Anston Carthage for 30 years.

William was a member of St. Michaels Church and a Eucharistic minister of St. Michaels Men’s Club, Mens CRHP, Parish Council, 4th Degree Knights of Columbus No. 274 and No. 826. Harold Felger Hall of Fame at St. Michael’s Boy Scout Troop No. 115, Scouter of the Year in 2011, Mons. Rev. James Kelp Catholic Scouter of 2011 and Rockwell Scoutmaster of 2002.

Surviving are his wife, Phyllis (Gibovda) Riley; two sons, Sean (Diane Gollner) Riley of Austintown and Michael Riley of Austintown; a sister, Kathleen Evans; three grandchildren, Bailey Riley of Austintown, Alivia Riley and Christian Riley; and two nieces, Erin Evans and Brieanna Evans. Friends will be received Monday, Dec. 5, from 10 to 11 a.m. at St. Michaels Church in Canfield. Contributions may be made to Hospice of the Valley on Market Street. The family would like to thank Dr. Joe Ambrose and Hospice of the Valley nurses for their loving care.
