Obituary for Helen Lampropoulos

Helen Vlahos Lampropoulos November 21, 1916- November 28, 2016Our "Theia Eleni", as we always lovingly referred to her, was the first of five siblings and the last to leave us. She and her brothers and sisters were born in Holyoke, Massachusetts to Constantinos and Georgia Vlahos. Her family chose to move back to Greece when she was still a very little girl, and she remained in Greece until the end of World War II.When she returned to the United States, she joined her brother, Theodore Vlahos and his wife, Demetra in Chicago and lived with them until her marriage to Haralambos Lampropoulos. Her husband was from Gary, Indiana and this is where she spent the majority of her adult years. She moved to Akron, Ohio in 1998 with her brother John, where she spent the last years of her life.Theia Eleni was independent, kind, intelligent (she had a photographic memory), tasteful, a "Nikokira," a fashion plate and a lover of the arts. And, she celebrated her "100th" birthday last week. She loved us and we loved her and we will always remember her and miss her.Her parents, siblings and their spouses, and her husband all predeceased Aunt Helen. She will be mourned by her niece, Georgia (John) Stathopoulos and their children, Tia Stathopoulos and Theodore (Jane) Stathopoulos, Diana (George) Vlahos and their children, Dr. Korine (Dr. Tlm) VanFleet and Themis (MaryJo) Vlahos; and her great-great-nieces and nephews. We would like to thank The Merriman and Hospice for their loving care of Aunt Helen May Her Memory Be Eternal
