Ronald E. Brown Sr. ” Gene”
ronaldebrown75It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ronald E. Brown Sr. “Gene”. Gene departed this life November 11, 2016 after a prolonged illness. Born January 30, 1941 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Anna R. Brown. He was preceded in death by his mother -in –law Leona Moon and son-in-law Charles Watson.
He was a resident of Akron, OH most of his life. He worked as a foreman at the Atlantic Foundry for over twenty years and retired from Kent State University in the maintenance department in 2004. After retiring, he enjoyed working as a school crossing guard up until his illness in January of 2016.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife of nearly fifty years, Juliette Brown, his daughters Cherie Watson (Charles, deceased) of Chicago, Illinois, Alissa (Rev. Jack) Streeter, and is only son Ronald E. Brown Jr. He also leaves behind 8 grandchildren: Charon, Imani, Alexis, Duron, D’Najia, Juliette, Stephanie, Isaiah, and many cousins and friends.
Daddy Brown was a husband, father, Papa, cousin and friend. He will be dearly missed.
Service will be held Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 12 Noon at Stewart & Calhoun Funeral Home, 529 W. Thornton St., Akron, OH 44307, Reverend Jack H. Streeter III eulogizing. Interment Mt. Peace Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until time of service.
