Obituary for Loraine Wabuda

Loraine Wabuda, age 90, of Shelton, entered into rest on Tuesday November 15, 2016 in the Griffin Hospital Derby. She was the devoted wife of the late Joseph Wabuda. Mrs. Wabuda was born in Shelton on April 22, 1926 daughter of the late Joseph and Doris (Rollinson) Novotny, and has been a lifelong resident of Shelton. She along with her late husband ran the Wabuda Dairy Farm in Shelton for many years. She was a member of the Eastern Star Queen Esther Chapter, The White Hills Fire Department’s Ladies Auxiliary and was a founding member of the White Hills Civic Club. She is the beloved mother of Gary Wabuda, and his wife Ann, and the late Todd David Wabuda. She is the loving sister of John Novotny, the cherished grandmother of Chris, Jessica, and Kelly Wabuda, and also leaves several nieces and nephews. Besides her son she is predeceased by two brothers Joseph “Sonny” Novotny, and George Novotny, and a sister Carol Cellars. Friends may greet her family on Saturday from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM (Noon) at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home 253 Elizabeth Street Derby. At 12:00 PM a funeral service will be held at the parlors with the Rev. Kenneth Smith Pastor of The First Baptist Church of Shelton. Burial will be private at Pine Grove Cemetery Ansonia.
