Obituary for Verna Ruby
VERNA MAE FOORE RUBY AUSTINTOWN – Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, for Verna Mae Foore Ruby, 86, formerly of Diamond, who passed away Wednesday, Nov. 9, at Briarfield of Ashley Circle. Verna was born March 6, 1930, in Robertsdale, Pa., the daughter of Earl and Margaret (Seiler) Foore, and came to this area in 1966. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She was a member of the Grace Church of the Nazarene and a former member of the Keen Agers. Her husband, Donald E. Ruby, whom she married April 24, 1948, passed away Oct. 29, 1993. Verna leaves seven children, Kenneth E. (Susanne) Ruby of Girard, Richard L. (Rose Marie) Ruby of North Jackson, Betty (Charles) Bonwick of Struthers, Robert (Becky) Ruby of North Jackson, Joanne (Dan) O Connor of Hubbard, Jesse (Toni) Ruby of Newton Falls, and Melissa (Dan) Potts of Berlin Center; as well as 18 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Verna also leaves a sister, Roberta of Winter Haven, Fla. Besides her parents, Verna was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Foore; and two sisters, Florence Duvall and Julia Foore.
