Obituary Condolences Thelma L.(Baker) WilliamsThelma Louise (Baker) Williams went home to be with our heavenly father on October 31, 2016. Thelma was born on April 21, 1921 in Tuskegee, Alabama to the late Walter and Francis (Holland) Baker. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Luddie Williams. She was a resident of Akron since 1948. For many years, she worked as a home health care provider. She accepted Christ at a very young age and followed God''s path until her departure on October 31, 2016. She was a proud member of the Phillip''s Chapel C.M.E. Church-Akron. She prided herself on living her life a way that was pleasing to God. She was a proud member of the Mother''s Board, missionary, deaconess, and a very active member in church until her health began to fail her.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sons, Jesse Williams, Leroy Williams, and Jerry Williams. Thelma had 10 siblings who have all preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her loss, son, Lonnie (Lynda) Williams; daughters, Mary (James) Bronner, Neoma (James) Lucas, Betty (Loren) Johnson, and Francine (Ronald) Spain. She also leaves behind several grandchildren. great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Her family was the center of her world. Her favorite pastime was arts and crafts and family gatherings such as picnics and holiday parties.Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2016. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 5 from 11 a.m. until 12 noon at Phillips Chapel c.M.E. Church, 413 Iroquois Avenue, Akron, OH 44305. Funeral Services will begin promptly at 12 noon, with Reverend Sheree Winn officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Peace Cemetery.Procession will form at 10:30 a.m. and condolences may be sent to: 714 Inverness Road, Akron, OH 44313.
