MARY LOUISE CARSONE BOARDMAN - Prayers will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Poland Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at the Holy Family Church in Poland, for Mary Louise Carsone, 74, who passed away early Thursday morning at Hospice House, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. “Marilou” was born Sept. 27, 1942, in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Robert and Mary Louise (Riley) Johnston Sr. She was known for her sense of humor and the most beautiful blue eyes. She was a graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School, class of 1960, and Youngstown State University, where she earned her degree in Education. She was an educator for 35 years. She began her career with Youngstown City Schools, and in 1980, she started teaching third grade at the Holy Family School in Poland. She maintained that position until her retirement in 2007. All of her students adored “Mrs. C.” In addition to her dedication to her career, she loved laughing and making memories with her three children and their families. Her seven grandchildren were the lights of her life and brought her much pride, joy and happiness. She also enjoyed monthly get togethers with her “teacher friends,” and researching genealogy for her own family tree and for friends’. She will forever be lovingly remembered by her three children, Michael (Kacey) Carsone of Irwin, Pa., Michele Carsone of Canton, and Melissa (Daniel) Nagy of Youngstown; a brother, Robert Johnston Jr. of Boardman; seven grandchildren, Jacquelyn Chiclowe, Allen and Brooke Ludington, Rowan and Riley Carsone, and Carson and Cameron Nagy; and many loving cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by infant, twin sons, Daniel and Jeffrey. Family and friends may call from Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home
