Cathy E. Lee "Boots" Cathy E. Lee "Boots", birth name Catherine, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 8, 2016 surrounded by her family. Cathy was a lifetime resident of Akron, OH born on October 31, 1941. She attended Akron Public Schools and was a graduate of Kent State University. Cathy retired with 30 plus years of service at the Daimler Chrysler Stamping Plant. While at Chrysler she was a 2-time recipient of the Marshall Award. Cathy was a lifetime and faithful member of St. Phillips Episcopal Church serving as Treasurer and Vestry. She developed and managed the Church''s Food Bank Program. She was an active Community Volunteer working with Democratic Party locally as well as nationally. She was a Democratic Precinct Committee Chairperson in the 4 Ward in Akron. Cathy was invited and attended the Inauguration in Washington, D.C. She was able to meet and be photographed with President Barack Obama which was a highlight. Cathy was a member of the New Horizons and Birthday Club with her family. She was a member of the UAW (United Auto Workers) Local 122 and lifetime member of NAACP. She loved the Cleveland Cavaliers, especially LeBron James. Cathy never complained about anything, always taking the high road. She was the matriarch of her family and will be truly missed. She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Helen Arnold; mother-in-law, Susie McDonald; sister, Marsha Dee and Gale Arnold; brother, Gerald Arnold. Cathy leaves to cherish her memory, devoted husband, William "Bill" Lee; son, Derek "Cuda" Arnold (the apple of her eye); her dog, Poochie; step-daughter, Victoria Wheeler; grandchildren, Dierre, Destiny, Tyson, Dakota and Lydia and several great-grand children; brothers, Royal (Marian) Arnold, John and Gary Arnold; sisters, Mona (John) Diamond, Carla Arnold, Donna (Gregg) Carter, Helen Duboise and Beverly (Ronnie) Latson; special cousins, Melvin Flowers and Winifred Jackson, now 100 years old; special friends, Iesha, Delores, Gale, Patti and Cheryl; and a host of many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
