Obituary for Edward J. Majetich

Edward J. Majetich, age 85, a Chester Twp. resident since 1961, passed away September 18, 2016, at Holly Hill Nursing Home in Newbury Twp. He was born May 6, 1931, in Natrona Hts., Pa.
Edward was a member of Chardon VFW Post 6519. He enjoyed bee keeping, collecting antique bottles, gardening, canning, hunting, traveling, and wine making. Edward was very creative and industrious; curious about many things. He built his own barn and greenhouse, and dabbled in clay modeling. Edward and Marge enjoyed polka music, traveling to polka dances frequently. Inspired by polka music, Edward occasionally played the accordion and harmonica.
Edward was a machine repairman/electrician for the Eaton Axle Corp. in Cleveland for 29 ½ years, and later for Metaullics in Solon for 10 years.
He is survived by his children, Pastor Robert (Bethany), Karen Russell, Mark, and Sandy (Rick) Vanderhoof; the love of his life, Marge Stipich; grandchildren, Justin and Josiah Majetich, Tessa and Kelsey Russell, and Olivia and Austin Vanderhoof; siblings, Jerry, William (Mary), and Catherine (Stanley, deceased) Cypher.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Dan, George, Vic, Emma, and Frank; and parents, Joseph and Catherine Majetich.
Visitation will be Thursday 5 to 8 p.m. and Friday 10 to 11 a.m. at Gattozzi and Son Funeral Home, 12524 Chillicothe Rd. in Chester Twp. A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 23, at the funeral home. Pastor Robert Majetich will officiate.
Burial will be at Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Twp.
