Obituary for Laverne L Cooper
Services for Laverne Lois (Sasson) Cooper, 75, of Willowick, will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 8, 2016 at Davis-Babcock Funeral Home, 4154 Clark Avenue, Willoughby. The Rev. Larry A. Pozza will officiate at the service.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016 at the funeral home. Final resting place will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Township following the service on Thursday.
Mrs. Cooper passed away Friday, September 2, 2016.
Born December 3, 1940 in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, she has lived in Willowick for the past 51 years.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren and enjoyed her animals, wildlife and working in her yard.
Survivors are her children, Gary (Denise) Cooper, Karen (Sean) Arp, Brian (Linda) Cooper, Kevin Cooper and Jamie (Lori) Major; grandchildren, Charlie, Tina, Kristen, Kayla, Julia, Connor, Leah, Caitlyn, Grace, Toni and Sean, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Emma, Layna, Lily and Sean, III; brother, Paul Sasson and sister-in-law, Linda Zager.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard M. Cooper in 2004. Her parents, John Paul and Dorothy Laverne (Oliver) Sasson and brothers-in-law, David Cooper and Fred Zager are also deceased.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages contributions to the Lake County Humane Society, 7564 Tyler Boulevard, Unit E, Mentor, OH 44060 or to the ALS Association, Northeast Ohio Chapter, 2500 East 22nd Street, Cleveland, OH 44115 in memory of her husband, Richard M. Cooper.
