Obituary for Doris Jean Hudock

AUSTINTOWN – Doris Jean Hudock, 81, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016.
Born Dec. 17, 1934, in Youngstown, she was the daughter of Ralph and Alice Collins.
She graduated from Boardman High School then went on to attend and graduate from Youngstown State University in 1952. She became a teacher and worked for the Youngstown City School System for over 25 years, retiring in 1994.
Jean was a member of the Western Reserve United Methodist Church in Canfield, as well as a card club which was made up of her high school friends, as well as the Senior Center in Austintown. She loved to play cards, spending time with her grandchildren and was genuinely a loving mother and grandmother. Survivors include her three sons, Richard John (Renee) Jr. of Rogers, Ark., Brian James (Susan) of Cummings, Ga., and Jeffrey Thomas (Mary Beth) of Wadsworth; grandchildren Tyler John, Trevor Rae, Samantha, Zachary, and Emma Kate; a sister, Judy (Leon) Rhodes of Houston; and a brother, Ralph Collins of Albany, N.Y. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Marjorie Dilts, Jo Ann McElhaney, and Alice Popovich. Friends will be received at the Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road in Canfield, on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m., and again one hour prior to the 11 a.m. funeral service which will be held on Monday, Sept. 12, 2016, with the Rev. Russ Adams officiating. Burial will take place at Green Haven Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Western Reserve United Methodist Church Sanctuary fund.
