Obituary for Russell W Pittman

RUSSELL W. PITTMAN YOUNGSTOWN – There will be funeral services on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2016, at noon at the Thompson-Filicky Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., for Russell W. Pittman, 75, who died Monday, Aug. 15, 2016. Russell, known as “Russ,” was born Feb. 14, 1941, in Youngstown, the son of the late Everett J. and Williamae (Wheeler) Pittman. He graduated from Chaney High School in 1960. Russ worked for AA Samuels Sheet Metals, Inc. in Youngstown for more than 30 years. He was a member of the Catholic War Veterans, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, American Legion Austintown Memorial Post No. 301 and the Amvets of North Port, Fla.
Russ was an avid fisherman, enjoyed golfing, traveling to Florida, Las Vegas, family vacations at Myrtle Beach and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his fiancé of 20 years, Connie L. Robinson of East Palestine; his two daughters, Debbie M. (David) Mitchell of Arvada, Colo., and Donna J. (Stanley) Socha of Canfield; five grandchildren, Daniel Socha of Cleveland, Kevin Socha and Stan Russell Socha, both of Canfield, and Violet Mitchell and David R. Mitchell, both of Arvada. Russ is also survived by his close extended family, Kimberly (Ronald) Duffy and Michael Robinson, both of East Palestine; and their children, Lindsey Duffy of East Palestine, Brooke (Antonio) Diaz of Cranberry, Pa., Hayley Robinson and Megan Robinson, both of Columbus, and Caleb Robinson of East Palestine; and many close friends in Ohio and Florida. Besides his parents, Russell was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Pittman and Kenneth Pittman. Family and friends may call on Saturday, Aug. 20, 2016, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Thompson-Filicky Funeral Home, Boardman -
