Funeral services for Angelo J. Battaglia, 79, of Painesville Township, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at McMahon-Coyne-Vitantonio Funeral Home, 6330 Center St. (Route 615, north of Route 2), Mentor.
Mr. Battaglia passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at his residence in Painesville Township.
Born Aug. 6, 1937, in Cleveland, he had been a Lake County resident for 44 years, living in Eastlake before Painesville Township.
He loved and enjoyed birds and birdwatching.
Angelo was the loving father of Jim (Mary) Battaglia, Barb (Harold) Siller, and Tom (Heather) Battaglia; and cherished grandfather of Andrew (Lenora), James, Kimberly, Stephanie (Matthew) Danik, Erik, Michael and Kailee; Godfather of Sandy and Theresa; and uncle of many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jean Marie (nee Kruzel) Battaglia; son, Michael Battaglia in 2013; parents, Charles and Mariana (nee Cancilla) Battaglia; and siblings, Catherine Belsito, Ann Simione, Santo "Sonny" Battaglia, Pete Battaglia, Chuck Battaglia, Tony Battaglia, Joe Battaglia and Jennifer Battaglia.
Family will receive friends from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Western Reserve Memorial Gardens in Chester Township.
