Obituary for Betty Ann Gregory

BETTY ANN GREGORY TENNESSEE – Betty Ann Gregory, 92, passed away on May 8, 2016. She was the beloved mother of four, grandmother of seven and great-grandmother of one. Betty was born Jan. 15, 1924, in Youngstown. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Gregory Sr., who passed in 1999; parents James and Wilmetta Crawford; brothers Bob and Jim Crawford; and sister Peggy Van Gelder. She is survived by daughter Nancy Gregory of Los Angeles; sons Robert Jr. and wife Mary Eva of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Donald of Franklin, Tenn. and Ronald Gregory and wife Michelle of Hudson; grandchildren Ashley Gregory of Smyrna, Tenn., Erin Robinson and husband Kyle of Nashville, Tenn., Mathew Gregory of Akron, Michael and wife Marshanda of Hudson, Katie Gregory of Akron, Kristin Gregory of Hudson, and Logan Gregory of Franklin; and great-granddaughter Eleanor Gregory of Hudson. Betty was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Murfreesboro. She spent several years as the executive administrator for the Eastminster Presbytery in Youngstown, where she was born and raised her family
. In 1983, she and her husband, “Bob,” moved to Tennessee to join their sons in their retail business. Betty retired at the age of 82, as secretary/treasurer of American Family Cookies Inc. The family would like to thank St. Thomas Rutherford and Alive Hospice for their kindness and care in her final days. There will be a celebration of her life with family and friends on May 21, 2016, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Cottages at Innsbrooke Clubhouse, 363 Forest Glen Court in Murfreesboro. “Please bring your memories and stories of Mom.”
