Obituary for Frank Moran

FRANK MORAN AUSTINTOWN - Prayers will begin Friday at 10:30 a.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for Frank Moran, 86, who died late Tuesday evening at ValleyCare Northside Medical Center. Frank was born Aug. 3, 1929, in Lowellville, the son of Joseph and Victoria (Guzzo) Moran. He was a 1948 graduate of Struthers High School and served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Frank worked as a self-employed contractor and carpenter his entire life before retiring. Frank was very active in the Austintown community.

He was a member of the Austintown PTA, EDATA and the zoning board. He enjoyed dancing with his wife, fishing with his children and spending time with his family, whom meant the most to him. Frank is survived by his wife, the former Celesta Bartholomew, whom he married in 1951; two daughters, Celesta (Scott) McCartney of Bessemer, Pa. and Therese (Peter) Fasano of Parma; son James Moran of Hermitage, Pa.; sister Katherine Pizzulo of Girard; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers John and Joseph Moran.

Family and friends may call today from 5 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Frank’s family requests that material tributes take the form of donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. -
