Obituary for Charles Costello

CHARLES COSTELLO STRUTHERS - Charles Costello, 78, died early Wednesday morning at Select Specialty Hospital in Boardman. Charles was born Nov. 12, 1937, in Youngstown, the son of Fred and Anne (Tomasino) Costello. He was a 1956 graduate of Struthers High School and worked as a driver for Brinks Armored Car Security. Charles was a very talented basketball player and received a scholarship to play in college. He was also a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

Charles had a great sense of humor even in his final days. He was the type of person who would do anything for anyone and give you the shirt off his back. Charles’ greatest love was for his grandchildren, whom he adored. He is survived by a daughter, Rhonda (Don) Hanni of Youngstown; two sons, Nicholas Costello of Phoenix and Chuck (Bobbie) Costello of Bellevue, Ill.; brother Guy Costello of Poland; three sisters, Mary Ann Lucas of St. Louis, Gloria Seacrest of Columbus and Valerie Witherow of Columbus; four grandchildren, Jenna, Anthony, Nicole and Josh; and great-grandchild Jordan.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Family and friends may call Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel. Burial will take place at Greenhaven Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
