Denise A. Van Atta (Harris)
CUYAHOGA FALLS -- Denise A. Van Atta (Harris), 53, passed away June 15, 2016 after a courageous battle with ALS.
She was born in Akron and resided in Powell, Ohio. Always independent, Denise made a home for her family in Iceland, Japan, California, Arizona, Dayton and Powell. We will always remember her for her love of her family, her unending kindness and generosity to others, and her wonderful, marvelous laugh that would fill our hearts with joy.
Preceded in death by her parents, Bobby and Elizabeth Harris, brother, Bobby Harris, she is survived by her devoted and loving children, Nicholas and Samantha; sisters, Sandy Smiley, Joan Smiley, and Jodi (Dan) Peabody; brothers, Jim (Kathy) Harris and Gene Smiley; nieces, nephews, and her beloved pet, Coco.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to all of her home health caregivers.
Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 19, 2016 at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221, where a funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Monday, June 20, Rev.
