Obituary for Sylvia M Telego

SYLVIA MARIE (WHITE) TELEGO AUSTINTOWN – Sylvia Marie (White) Telego, 73, passed away peacefully Friday, May 6 2016, at St. Joseph’s Hospital Select Specialty Care Unit. She was born in Cleveland, and was lovingly adopted and raised by the late Orson and Marion Bowman in Canfield. Sylvia graduated from Canfield High School in 1960, and went on to attend Lewis Weinberger Academy of Cosmetology. On Feb. 2, 1963, she married George Telego, and they would celebrate 49 years of marriage before his passing on Oct. 23, 2012.
Sylvia went back to school and graduated in 1995 from Youngstown State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. Sylvia was a member of St. Christine Catholic Church. She will also be remembered for the enjoyment she found in sewing and needlepoint.
Left to celebrate Sylvia’s memory, are her three daughters, Peggy (Kevin) Sneider of Port Clinton, Aino (Jim Mahon) Hernandez of Boardman and Carrie (Chris) Rosko of Solon; five grandchildren, C.J., Tyler, Alexis, Blake and Samantha; two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Skye and Johnathan Beau; and a half brother, Ted White. Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 11, at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Austintown Chapel, 5797 Mahoning Ave., where a funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Interment will take place at Green Haven Memorial Gardens. The family extends a special thanks to the staff at Mercy Health Boardman Campus, Select Specialty Care, and Parkside Nursing Center for their wonderful care. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Mercy Health Partners, Boardman Campus.
