Obituary for Mary C Young
Mary Catherine “Kitty” (Kelly) Young, age 81, of Mentor, fought her battle of lung cancer courageously, surrendering with serenity on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at Lake West Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 7, 1935 in Washington, PA.
Kitty was a member of St. John Vianney Church where she worked as a book keeper and volunteered for 18 years. Mrs. Young was an employee of Elsag Bailey for five years and a former employee of Euclid Disposal Inc. for 19 years. After retirement she enjoyed enhancing the landscape around her Mentor home of 56 years. Miss Kitty was known for her hospitality, entertaining family and friend’s poolside.
Kitty was preceded in death by her husband Robert W. Young; parents: William V. Kelly Jr. and Margaret H. (Walk) Kelly, both of Washington, PA.; sister: JoAnn (Bill) Moore also of Washington, PA. She is survived by her three sons: David K., Stephen M. (Bonnie Dill) and Brian K.; grandchildren: Nicholas Young of Charleston, WV., Amber Young of Willoughby, Cory Young USN stationed in Port Hueneme, CA. and great grandson Cayden James Young of Port Hueneme, CA; sisters: Noreen (George) McDonough of Pittsburgh, PA., and Susan (Doug) Rittenhouse of Brunswick, GA.
